Just Believe

Hey there... sorry it's been a little while.. seems like my life is full as I am sure your's is as well with the Holidays. I just wanted to share the cards I made for my co-workers. I made 30 of them and it was so much fun. If you are a crafter I don't need to tell you my reasoning for not throwing anything away. ( I can see all your heads nodding ) LOL. I have had these lids in my stash for a long time.. I always told my self I would make ornament for my tree with them. Well that didn't happen. Then here comes Christmas and what do you get for #30 co-workers without breaking the bank. Well I wanted to get them all the same thing.. but what would that be for different genders and some with kids.. some without..some married some single... then I started thinking and ideas started popping into my head... With the help of my hubby.. this is what transpired.

Cards with matching ornaments. My hubby drilled the holes and painted them all white. While those were drying I was in my craft room.... for days... lol. I cut my card pannel 5x4 got out my MISTI and used all my Tim Holtz brown inks that I had on my wood grain background stamp which was perfect because it covered the whole card. then I die cut the reindeer out of craft card stock 3 for each card. Some I sprayed with sticky adhesive others I backed with double sided tape. Then I did about 5 cards at a time and die cut the dear out of the card. because I wanted the same dear to go back in the same panel it had been cut out of.

I then used a very bright red embossing ink and did the nose and the sentiment.

The ornament dears are stacked 3 high and the believe and the nose was cut out of glitter paper and glued on  and then the sparkly silver string was strung through and tied in a knot.

I found at my local 99 cent store red and white polkadot party bags which came with silver twist ties. I bought white tissue paper and wrapped each ornament up along with the card, which the inside said "Merry Christmas My Friend" it was so much fun. My hubby and I make a excellent team. BTW we got married on New Years Day! Which he is taking me away for 2 days. YIPPY SKIPPY!

I haven't been able to do a challenge in a while so I want to link up to FUSION
And I also want to link up to AS YOU SEE IT
And last but not least Less is More

I hope you enJOYed!

Thanks Friend

Thanks for stopping by. I have a card to share with you for the Mixed Media Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. Mixed Media.. it is something I am new to. I am making a clean and simple card but using all kinds of mediums.

I used Platinum embossing powder to stamp the elephant which is part of the Whimsical Friends stamp set by HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS. I used milled lavender ink by tim holtz over a clear embossed panel of the thanks word from that whimsical friends set. I sprayed perfect pearls mixed in water to give it that shine so it would match my blanket tile which is actually a Mosaic tile sticker I have them in 3 sizes and I used the 15mm for the blanket and the 5mm as a diamond after the friend. I got out my Zig clean brush markers to color the elephant.. and last but not least I gave him a little googlie eye.

Hope I have you some inspirations that mixed media can be clean and simple too. Now go create.. after all that is what we love to do right?
After all you could win a stamp set from the
shop.

Hope you enJOYed

Peace

It is the time of the season that you want PEACE. Sometimes, quietness is where I get my peace when it doesn't come from within. Where I live, outside,  the night it is quiet. It is a sleepy little town that when you step outside into the night air, it is  whole different world from where you stepped out of. The noise that I leave in the house... the hum of the refigerator.. the whirl of the washer, the TV ( that blasted TV) someone playing a guitar, someone in another room listening to music, someone else snoring because they have had a long day, the dishes being done from dinner... and because it is getting cold now so there is the snap snap snap of the fire place, the dogs finally stopping their tap tap tap on our floors. But when I step out side into the crisp cool air and look up into the sky and see all the stars. They are so bright and the depth.. like you can just reach up and touch them.. and the night sky so dark, dark, blue, and that brings me PEACE.

Our theme over at Happy Little Stampers is STAR.
Make a Christmas card with a star.

So this is a stamp by Memory box. I inked it up Chipped Sapphire by Tim Holtz and clear embossed over it to make it shinny. I used the Mixed Christmas Sentiments PEACE I and embossed it to match,  then brought the ink out to fade it out to the sky.

I left the bottom white to represent snow. I then die cut the largest star out of a frame of red card stock to make it POP. I die cut multiple layers out of black card stock and stacked them up to create dimension in multiple sizes of stars

So go make a card with some sort of star and  link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge

After all you could win this bold #'s set

"GIVE THANKS"

Have you ever just sat and thought about your life. It's humbling. Sometimes when I try and look at it from God's perspective, I am overwhelmed by HIS GRACE. So I try to say thanks. When the seasons change and we move from one to another it is like a breath of fresh air for me. Winter to Spring, Spring to Summer, but Summer to Fall is my favorite.... The colors are so vibrant and beautiful. So my card for today represents THANKFULNESS for God's loving kindness for not leaving us in the cold too long or the heat too long.

I die cut a mask from a leaf and placed it on my card. I used my PEERLESS water colors for this. I love how easy they are to use. You could blend them out more but I wanted kind of like and x-ray look where you could see the layer beneath. I then framed it with black card stock. Then I used a momenta embossing folder for the gray pannel and put in on a smoky gray cardstock base.

this is how I store mine. I got a business card holder from the dollar store. I cut business size water color paper and inked just a swatch so it would show through. I then cut a swatch from each color and adhered it on the top.  I did it in rainbow order so I can see from a glance which color I want Easy peazy when the swatch is done I just cut a new one and adhere. My colors never contaminate because if I flip the page it is protected by the page sheet or the cover. Each one holds 48 colors. I have one for the rainbow and I have another for browns and grays.

Here is a close up of the sentiment

#YOU ROCK

It's that time again... to reveal the card made and received for the card chain. #you rock... hash tags are the thing right now, and HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS just came out with a set called mix mash and it has this #you rock sentiment in it.. so fun to use matter of fact I used the whole set to create this card. It is a shaker card

I stamped the arrows and the circles in Gold embossing powder then I distressed the edges ...I wanted to have like an edgy look to it... after all rockers are edgy right? I die cut a rectangle out of it and inked it up with pretty maroons and blues. I made a shaker card out of the top part then put my panel
lined right back up of the top of the shaker part after I filled it up with gold goodies.

Here is a close up of the shaker part.. I love how the circles on the edges go 3d and continue on into the shaker part.

Here is the sketch from Society of Stampaholics suggested we could use.

Here is the card I received from the Lovely Gail... all the way from NORWAY.. the theme we could also choose from was CATS.. I love all animals and used to have adorable cuddly cats.. but I have not had one in a while. So I hung this card up in my craft room so I could look at that cute little face.

we are a dog family .. we have four... I thought I would share this photo of my daughter and one of our puppies (MAGGIE) sleeping in the chair. Yep they are fully passed out unaware that I was even standing there.. such a good guard dog.. HUH? I wonder what they are dreaming about?

Tag you're it...two!

I have some exciting news... I am going to stretch my comfort zone. I have joined the Mixed Media band wagon.. I mean why not I have all the stuff.. just using it in a different way.. RIGHT? Well that is what I am hoping anyway. So here is my mixed media tag.

I used a cute little snowman stamp on some dark blue card stock and cut red cardstock a little bit bigger than the blue to make a frame.

I stamped him in white pigment ink and white embossed over the top of that

I took some of the pigment ink and smooched in on my craft matt and added some water and picked it up with my paint brush and splattered it.. easy peasy..

I took  SNOW MARKER.. and added some snow BIG snow..

I used silver stickles for his buttons and to color in the heart and topped it off with some silver twine

I hope you will join me on this mixed media journey I am going to take by linking up at

Hope you enJOYed my little step out of my comfort zone, and you might be happy to know all my supplies are from Michaels, even the snowman:)

Tag you're it!

It's that time again.. Wow I can't believe it is already November. Christmas is coming! What better way to get all those tags made than to play with our challenge this month over at the HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE

And we are sponsored by
This is the stamp set you could win.
whoop whoop.. isn't that awesome!

Now on to my tag

I used the Sizzix framelits die to die cut all the tags.. this set is so awesome and versatile. I use the 2 largest dies. In the smallest one I used the H and O from  My favorite things Emmitt Alphabet and backed it with some dk maroon card stock. I have a mustache die that is actually a tab, I just cut off the tab part. I thought the hole in the tag made the perfect little mouth.

I hope you got some inspiration today plus we have a guest designer Bonnie I encourage you to go check out her blog, she has an awesome tag to show you.

I hope you enJOYed

Happy Little Stampers 2nd release

Hello... Welcome to the Happy Little Stampers 2nd Release blog hop.

You should have arrived here from Susan's blog. Isn't she talented? Great inspiration! If  you did not  come from there you can go back to the  Happy Little Stampers home page and start from the beginning if you want.

What a great release KYLIE has in store for you.

I made a couple of cards for you. The first one is using the Whimsical Friends set. I absolutely love this set.. it has some really cute images in this set.

I love these little birds they remind me of all my friends getting together and chit chatting the day away at the local watering hole. I colored them with the Zig Clean color pens covered with wink of stella.

The next set is the EVERYDAY SENTIMENTS. This set is the best when it comes to sentiments it has every thing you need for any occasion. I decided to get a jump on my Valentines's Day cards

I used some of the stamps from the mix mash to create a pop of interest.

The mix mash set is next

This set is really cool it has lots of circles in it. You could create a bokeh effect. The arrows is what drew me to this set. I love the 3 different sizes it has in it. It too has some great sentiment's for all kinds of occasions. Stay tuned for a shaker card from this set in a few days.

The next set is called Birthday Friends

I adore this little hippo... he is just so happy.

Well that is all for me.. but there are a couple of more sets in the release I don't have but if you don't forget to comment on each of the blogs in the hop you could WIN a mystery prize

up next on the hop is Gail. I am sure you are going to love what she has to show you!
