Congratulations

Over at Always playing with paper  there is another challenge and this is the inspiration photo .

I was really inspired by the color red, how the element in the middle  has a white halo around it and the newsprint in the background.
So here is my card

I stamped the background stamp in black ink it reminds me of the newsprint like someone is spreading some good news, which brings me to the sentiment which is from Avery Elle  stamped in Memento Black ink. I used my heart die from Spellbinders (media mixage) to cut the heart.  I inked around the heart to make it stand out and faded it to the edges. The red goes a little ombre in my opinion, which is very popular right now.

Since I got a little vintage vibe of someone coming home from the military to wed his love from the photo I wanted to give it some masculine and feminine qualities. The pearls under the sentiment remind me of her dress and the three black dots remind me of the wings on is uniform.

Avery Elle is their sponsor this week which just happens to be where my sentiment is from.

Make a big WISH

When you were a kid did you pick up dandelions and blow on them and then your parents had this crazy look on their faces and you were like.... "what??? I am making wishes!"  Well as an adult I know what that look means.... but I still pick it up and blow on it and watch the petals blow in the wind and fly up up and away.

Up up and away and blowing in the wind are the theme challenges today that my card represents.

I stamped the dandelions (DOTS a very old company I don't think they exist anymore) in cobblestone by simon says stamp and Memento, Grey Flannel. The hand is from Stampendous and colored with watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from the $1.00 bin at Michaels and stamped in Distress ink, Peacock feathers.

It's your day

Its my grandfather in law b-day on Sunday and he is going to be *85* WOW! He is always talking about having a ball and a good time... so ... I made him this card.

I die cut a circle in the middle for the sentiment (papersmooches)

I used three different ink colors SSS HOT LIPS, MALIBLUE, COBBLESTONE. I think this color combination is awesome.. reminds me of baseball and springtime and freshness.

I used my wink of stella on the it's your day to make it pop a little

Springtime is here

It's springtime... everything is in bloom and I have Tiffany blue on the brain... you see I love Tiffany's everything about it... I don't know why.. but every since I saw Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's I have been........... obsessed....... you might say. My hubby and I just went to Las Vegas for (just the two of us get away) and one of the treats I get is to go to Tiffany's... He laughs at me because he says the closer I get to the store the more clammy my hands get... well absolutely..... sweaty..... is what he says....LOL and I never knew it before but he is right... we hold hands all the time... so he would know.

But here is my card to represent spring. The vases are from paper smooches (crystal clear) and the sentiment is from (spiritual sampler)

I stamped the vases in maliblue ink and die cut them out. I wrapped the vases in tiffany blue twine and strung it across the card so the vases would not be floating in air.

I used kraft paper and stamped the flowers in white pigment ink and stamped the blue center in Maliblue which is about as close to tiffany blue as you can get.

OMG Happy birthday to you!

This card kinda came from  watching my daughter put her phone in her back pocket all the time in her jeans. ... this is what she looks most of the time.. or should I say her back side. ;)

I have this jean stamp that I have used many times always making the little red tag (to represent the levi tag) the persons name and a handkerchief in the pocket as the note of what I want it to say to the recipient. Well I got this IPhone stamp from hero arts and I knew I did not want to use it till the time was right and I wanted it to be special. Well Simon Says Stamp is having a birthday they are turning 6 years old. Is 6 too young for a cellphone.... card. Happy Birthday SSS.

over at Less is more their challenge this week is the color BLACK your main image has to be predominately Black. The first thing I thought of was this cell phone stamp and how to present it. That is when my daughter popped into my head.

I inked the stamp twice so I could cut the pocket and the belt loop tabs to make it more dimensional

I cut the little red tag and taped it under the pocket just like levi's but this one says OMG then I stamped the phone on the whitest card stock I could find, so the black would pop.

I want to link up to Less is more  Predominately Black challenge.
And I want to link up to Wednesday challenge Simon Says Stamp and wish them a Happy Happy
Birthday

Candy egg Easter and Jelly bean spring

I just love this sentiment.. Have a candy egg Easter and and jelly bean spring (stamping up from waaaay back). So many challenges  are having Easter and spring theme I wanted to make something that reminded me of my child hood. We always had easter egg hunts! Even though I was the only kid!    I always usually got a soft pastel bunny in my basket and usually an Easter outfit appropriate for a  little girl which my grandma always tired to make me look like, but the truth was I was a tomboy! I wanted to dig in the dirt! But there was something about that soft little bunny that just made me melt into a little girl.

So here is my card

The little bunny is an embossing template from Lasting Impressions, I just layed it on my paper and inked around it with Spun Sugar from Tim Holtz, and then I glued on a little pink button for the tail

I then stamped the sentiment in Ranger jet black Archival Ink. I stamped the sentiment again on another piece of paper and added double stick tape to the back and die cut the word EASTER through it and inked it up with the same spun sugar pink ink.

and lined it up with the other sentiment.

I inked up my folded card along the sides with the same ink and adhered my panel so it would pop up.

I want to link up my card to game-36-easter-colors  bright and fun, soft and delicate over at AAAcard cas challenge. I chose to use just one easter color... PINK.. those blues greens and yellow are gorgeous but the  soft pink just stood out  to me.

I want to link this up to challenge-60-cute at Addicted to CAS. I think this little bunny BUTTon is cute.
