Let FAITH be your guide

Hello there. I feel like it has been forever since I have been here posting a creation or 2. I have had a crazy 2 weeks of work. No time to craft :(. But alas here I am. It is supposed to be summertime here in Southern Californina, but it has been raining for 2 days.....but we need it and I love it. It reminds me of all those times in my child hood that the summer storms were a favorite part of my growing up. Splashing in the water in the summertime. Water is the background of my life. I grew up going to the Colorado River every summer. Which brings me to my card.

My background is made from Alcohol Inks from Tim Holtz blue, slate, and pearl.

I then use the slate on another piece of glossy paper and die cut the anchor out of that.

I die cut the anchor out of my background piece and inlaid the grey one in it's place.

The sentiment is from paper smooches spiritual sampler.

The splash dots I have had in my stash forever.

I layer my piece off center onto craft card stock to represent the sand.

Christmas in July

Hello, I hope your day is amazing. We are celebrating 4th of July here in the states. It is our day for Independence. To celebrate fireworks galore graze our nighttime skies this time of year. So I made a little card for the Christmas Challenge for Happy little stampers and I glazed my tree with snow. This is the card I made   I hope it inspires you to join in the CHALLENGE.

I created a mask from Inkadinado masking paper by sketching a tree ( I don't know about you but just like my hearts they are never symetrical ) so I just cut it in half and placed in on a piece of kraft card stock all the way to the edge. I then took  hero arts white pigment ink and used my ink blending tool and wiped it over the mask to create an outline.

I then took some round circles and created some snow balls and placed them randomly around the card. I die cut Merry Christmas (simon says stamps) out of DCWV glitter paper. I love using this paper it is gorgeous in real life and no glitter mess... which means my hubby really appreciates it staying on my card and not all over my face :)

I also made a tag to go with and tied it to a brown paper gift sack and a little envelope for my card. Starting Christmas cards in July is a great idea don't you think?
So go create something and enter the challenge! You will be done with your Christmas Cards in no time and that leaves more time to enjoy the season and shop!

You are the cream in my coffee!

Hello Friends, I have made a lot a new friends in blog land and wanted to create a card to say thank you. So thank you!!! You are the cream in my coffee!

This stamp is from Stampendous.

I inked it in versa mark ink and embossed it in Liquid Platinum, I love this powder... I say it over and over again it is like butter. I cut a mask of the stamp  to lay over the top of the image so I could ink a stencil (by plaid) over the the top to make it look like a table cloth. So we are sitting at a table having a cup of coffee together.

I inked it in distress inks gathered twigs and peacock feathers.

I cut down the panel so I could have the card base frame it so it would pop!

Freedom

Freedom is not free. That is what we are celebrating in a few days in the good ole USA. I made a card to honor and represent that freedom. My Grandma's birthday was the 4th of July so we not only celebrated the 4th but a big ole birthday to boot. My Grandma has been gone for a few years now. She lived to be 92, but I miss making her birthday cards. I know she is looking down on my now so here you go gram FREEDOM to celebrate

I stamped the sentiment and one firework in Liquid Platinum, in certain lights it looks silver and others it looks gold. That is what I love about it, and it is smooth like butter.

I stamped the other two fireworks in memento Lady Bug and Danube Blue with a clear embossing over the top.

The stripe with stars boarder I thought was a very cute touch inked in Lady Bug and clear embossed over the top. I added some red little sparkly gems in the center of each firework.

I want to link up at OLS18 SPARKLE AND SHINE. I love this challenge I choose the firework prompt.

Card Chain Challenge

I am doing something new this post. I joined CCC which stands for CARD CHAIN CHALLENGE

I used the June SSS (simon says stamp) card kit. It is full of fun little goodies like the puffy sunglasses and a die to create that beautiful smile.

I also made a and decorated the envelope
You see this little CCC is a little  different than anything I have done before it is kinda like pen pals You sign up and send a handmade card to person who signed up before and you receive one from the person who signed up after you. You have lots of options to guide you through the card making process I chose to use this sketch and flip it sideways or one quarter turn is the technical way of putting things

anyway I made a flag out of some of the paper that came in the kit then traced it on some masking paper and cut it out a little larger. I laid my mask down and pick some ink that would highlight some of the colors in the paper. I then glued my flag down and got to die cutting and stamping

I die cut the smile and circle out of glitter paper from DCWV and placed my other stamps to make a sentiment I just love that BE HAPPY but smile and BE HAPPY is even better :)
I took the puffy sticker sunglasses and placed it right under the smile

The envelope is stamped to coordinate and that cute little pair of sunglasses comes in the stamp set

Here is a close up

And the beautiful card I got from Becca Crugar
and a link to her wonderful blog http://www.damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.com

she included some goodies.. what a nice surprise that was.

Isn't it gorgeous... LOVE IT!!! A little bit edgy, a little bit soft... and since we are in a drought here in California... perfect saying.

If you are interested in joining the Card Chain Challenge here is a link to the wonderful place you can find all the information
