Gold Spinner Bell

Hello everyone! I have been following Sandy Allnock for a while now. I even got to participate in a copic marker class she did in California earlier this year (still have a lot to learn about that medium) but I am glad I got her HEX CHART. It makes using these markers so much easier for me.

Today is about her GO FOR THE GOLD free online class. You can check out all the details on her blog HERE.

I have 3-d molding paste that I added GOLD stickles to which worked... but first I tried adirondack gold mixative  which turned it grey then I added some brusho yellow ochre, it did better.... got rid of the grey but was not very shiny, that is when I added the gold stickles, which made it gold and gave it that sparkly touch I wanted. I do plan to buy some of the products but I got inspired by her and wanted to make a card TODAY... LOL. So I used what I had. I was inspired by her card. 1. That it was so personal and 2. It gives a lasting impression as a keep sake. That is what I wanted to do with this card. Make a lasting impression for some lucky recipient on my Christmas Card List.. (probably a family member and you know they have to gush over what you do lol)

I created my background on the front of my card by using a large Hero Arts background stamp created by Lia Griffith and stamped it in Versa Magic chalk ink RED MAGIC is the name of the color.

I created a spinner card using the gold paste and a die cut by DEE's DISTINCTIVELY.

I created 2 bells one for each side. One side I took a stamp and stuck it in the paste. I took Sandy's advice and sprayed it with water first so it would come unstuck easier.

The other side I used a striped stencil

there are many youtube tutorials on making spinner cards.

Here is a peek at the inside... JINGLE BELLS stamp from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments.

My first 2 cards have been created using the Big Bold Numbers set

A fun Halloween Card

Look at that fun bold 31 it is embossed using black versafine ink with clear embossing powder

And a fun Christmas card

This one is stamped with Simon Says Stamp hot lips dye ink... look how smooth. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to be able to stamp it twice to make sure I got a great impression. Anytime you are working with a large solid area I recommend doing this just in case.

My next 2 cards I used the mixed Christmas sentiments

I used the Season Greetings stamp on this cute little house mouse image.

I just love how it can snuggle right in and make a great statement.

There are so many possibilities with this stamp set it goes with all my Christmas stamps and allows me to be able to create cute little scenes.

I hope I have inspired you today with my cards. The designers and I have had so much fun playing with these stamps. Next you need to hope on over to Gail Townsend's blog

Every gift is from above

I have had this stamp for a couple of years.. and tired to color it using different things and nothing work for me. So back in the drawer it went. Then I took a copic marker class... to get just the basics... I have taking the online class and it is wonderful.. and I have taken other classes and they were awesome.. but I still didn't get it. Then I took this class and it is just the basics and then something clicked in my brain.. and then this image popped in my head.

I wanted to make a card for my Aunt ( I have a few ) but this is the sister of the one in my last post. I wanted her to know how I felt about her and what she means to me. She is a gift from God to me she is my dad's twin sister.. so I call her my female father (they get a kick out of that). She doesn't have any kids of her own so my cousins and I are her children.. and she treats us as such.. She is a blessing.

I love how this came out (not to toot my own horn or anything) but I think it finally clicked. The only thing I would like to have gone back to do.. is blend out the blue a little bit more. I wish I would have taken a picture of the inside of the card. It was an explosion card.. and it simply said "you are my perfect gift"

Deck the Halls

It is time for another Christmas Challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers blog. The theme is HOLLY
You probably recognize this little mouse if you have been stamping for any amount of time, but, do you recognize the sentiments?
They are from the new Happy Little Stampers Store designed by our fearless leader
Kylie Purtell

I inked the little mouse stamp with versa fine onyx black ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I then used my Zig CLEAN COLOR Real Brush markers.

I colored the leaves with 2 different greens and the berries with 2 different reds. I used the browns and watered it down with a watercolor brush. I used a light blue and watered it down and went around the whole image to make it POP.

I used the wink of stella to go over the leaves and glossy accents over the berries.
Now lets see your best deck the halls with boughs of HOLLY, Fa la la la la la Fa la la la.

CCC for August

It is that time of the month again... no not that one.. The Card Chain Challenge.. I have had so much doing these.. I have started hanging the cards up I receive in my craft room...3 so far.. Here is the card I made.

I choose to work from the sketch

I used Tim Holtz distress inks to create this beautiful rainbow. I love how you can get so many colors by using just a few.. for example that green... was created by mixing the yellow and the blue together.

The stamp set and pallet and brush is all from Paper Smooches..I die cut a few and stacked them so they would pop out at you. The brush is kinda hard to see, but in  person it is very cute.

and this is the inside.

and this is the card I received from JO in England
The picture does not do it justice. It is so cute IRL.

I hope you enJOYed
